GOVERNOR LAUDS KONKANI WRITERS' CONTRIBUTION:

The Governor Kidar Nath Sahani lauded the contribution of Konkani writers for rejuvenating the regional language and inspiring the people to develop the language. He was speaking after felicitating seven stalwarts of Konkani renaissance
Fr Moreno de Souza, Purshottam Mallya, Manoharrai Sardesai, Fr Antonio
Pereira, Ravindra Kelekar, Monsg Alexander D'Souza and Pandurang
Bhangui at a function organised by the Shennoi Goembab 125th anniversary
Mahatsov Samiti, at Kala Academy's Black Box on Friday.

The governor described Shennoi Goembab as a national hero and said that other Konkani writers need to be commended for their literary works as they too through
their writings have helped to take the nation ahead.

Editor of Gulab, Fr Freddy J D'Costa, also spoke on the occasion.
